Anyone else going to the Jan 22-25 camp?

Hey,

I was curious if anyone else in the area was going to the skeleton camp there and if so, would like to carpool? Be a great way to save gas and such. Write me in this thread or PM me if anyone is interested :).

Where ya staying, "Blue"?

I'm gonna be there. and right now I have a room booked more in SLC the night I get there (monday) but the rest of the week I've got a res at the Hampton by the park....but I _might_ cancel that and stay with one of the locals.

Hit my email link here if ya like.

edit:

Ha. Didn't look at your name first. Didn't realize you WERE a local. :D

Well, the bad news is you're probably not gonna find another student to carpool with.

The good news is I can say you're pretty much assured of finishing in the top 3 of your class.

3 people

Postby George » Fri Jan 18, 2008 9:13 pm

Holy cow, just 3 people in this class, that's admittedly a letdown ... versus 23 last year. But hey, you're assured lots of personal attention and sufficient ice time. And I can boast two-thirds of this year's class was referred through NewSliders.com! :)

By the way, earlier I said I'd arrive Tues but it'll actually be Wed so I plan to assist your class beginning Day 2, for whoever's brave enough to return after Day 1. :)

Yeah. Should be interesting. Probably get extra runs the first day or two but I suspect on thurs/fri we're gonna be a bit exhausted (necks etc) to use the extra time.

And Kyle...since I emailed this to George rather than posting...

I called and confirmed. They said we could hold off check in until 11AM (bring your paperwork) since there's so few of us. Sounds like my stated 12:00 start is still accurate. We're on the ice @ 1:30.

See you guys soon!

Can I ask what exact paperwork they want us to bring? I have the email the confirmed for and paid the 400 dollars.

I also turned in my physical/membership to the Lake Placid people. I overnighted it, and he signed for it Thursday afternoon.

Any information on what everything they want us to bring?

I'd show up with all of it.

Waiver, physical, whatever you sent to LP, etc.

When I contacted USBA they basically wanted stuff sent to them, NOT LP...

I submitted my p/w by PDF via email and am taking it all with me. Barbara implied that taking everything was a good idea also, when I talked to her tonight.

I got the opposite from Steve himself. He told me LP needed the physical and paperwork, not PC. I'll bring it all just in case, but its sort of funny I got the opposite news.

The stuff you are sending to Lake Placid is for your USBSF membership, make sure that you send it in or you won't be sliding. Have at least two copies of everything that you sent to Lake Placid and bring the copies to Utah, they will want proof that you have had your physical and paperwork done. (bring multiple copies, people tend to lose things...)
